Supporting Families
  • I thought I'd keep you updated, as Amy had her taster day last Thursday at grammar school. She felt completely at home and throughly enjoyed her day. She is one happy bunny. Any reservation of her being the only one from her school were completed dispelled when her form teacher gave her a huge hug. I'm so pleased I persisted with the appeal and contacted you. I really couldn't have done it without you or your knowledge of the system. Thank you again

July Academy and Free School News

Just one new academy in Kent appoved this year; Mascalls' School in Padddock Wood. There are also two new academies in Medway: Rainham Mark Grammar and Cliffe Woods Primary School. However, there is a large number of new applications:..........

Garlinge Primary School and Nursery, Margate; Joydens Wood Infant School; Joydens Wood Junior School; Lady Boswell's Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School, Sevenoaks; Pluckley Church of England Primary School; Saint George's Church of England School, Gravesend; Smarden Primary School; The Maplesden Noakes School, Maidstone; and Wilmington Primary School (Chain with Joydens Wood Infant School and Joydens Wood Junior School).Although there are no new formal applications in Medway, Hundred of Hoo School is reported to be applying to become an academy in conjunction with Sir Joseph Williamson's Mathematical School and Chantry Primary School in Gravesend is working in conjunction with Meopham Community Academy. I am not aware of any further Free School proposals, and neither of the two initial plans has reached a formal stage.
