Gravesend Grammar School for Girls, Sheldwich Primary School and St John's Church of England Primary School in Maidstone (even if the school is too bashful to mention it on its website). The Thomas Aveling School in Medway has also applied. You will find details of all schools that have converted to be academies, or are in the process of application here.
There is a new application to become a Free School from Hadlow College, which currently offers higher education courses in subjects such as agriculture and sustainability, and animal management. The school would offer a broad curriculum with a focus on rural environmental matters, looking to offer vocational skills in rural occupations.
Hadlow Rural Community School would be for secondary young students aged 11 to 16 and based on Hadlow College’s grounds near Tonbridge, recruiting both at ages eleven and fourteen. There is no local secondary school nearby, although it is in the Tonbridge area for selective schools. It could therefore draw students from Tonbridge, Sevenoaks or the Paddock Wood area. As yet none of the applications from Kent have been approved. You will find Free School information here.
