Supporting Families
  • Hello Peter,

Well, Julianne is two weeks in and absolutely having the time of her life. She couldn't be happier. She has already joined a club and made four good friends. Her enthusiasm is infectious. She has taken everything in her stride and chats about school the moment she comes through the door.

We both want to thank you again for everything. Having a contented child is all that matters & you helped us achieve it.

    Best wishes

In Year (Casual) Admissions to Schools (October 18)

An item on Radio Kent this morning claimed there were 800 children caught up in the casual admission debacle (children moving into the area, or wishing to change school mid year), following new government regulations.

Many of these have not had a school place since the start of term. See my in-year admission page for more detail. This does not surprise me, given the complexity of the new system and the level of enquiry I have received also. Two groups especially problematic: expatriates moving back to Kent mainly from the Gulf States who cannot apply for a school place until they are domiciled here, and those applying for a grammar school place, where testing and application have to be coordinated by KCC. Pity those for whom both apply!
