What we do
- Peter Read operates a personal consultancy across Kent and Medway. I do not give individual advice for families living in other parts of the country, as most education issues are “local”.
- Few of my clients have problems that admit to “off the shelf” solutions, so my priority is to visit families in the comfort of their own homes, where I provide personally tailored advice.
- My largest area of activity is secondary school transfer and appeals. I also offer advice on following through complaints including the Local Government Ombudsman, primary school admissions and appeals, special needs placement and statementing, how to resolve bullying in primary and secondary schools, transport appeals, and exclusion. You will find further details on the relevant pages of this website. I am happy to consider other issues where my expertise is relevant.
- I am available for talks with groups of parents across Kent and Medway.
- My priority is resolving problems and I advise that legal issues should be taken up with a solicitor.
- There is considerable free advice available to parents; several sources being identified on this web site. I am happy to feature others. One of the best is the Advisory Centre for Education, an educational charity.
- To obtain details of what I can do to help you, and an estimate of costs, please go to Can I help you, and how much will it cost?
REMEMBER
A child usually has just one chance to experience a good education. The quality of that experience will determine her or his life chances.
