This service is mainly used by parents who wish to discuss school transfer issues, but please feel free to enquire on other aspects of my advisory service detailed on this website.
In October, the telephone advice line mainly provides parents with clear, objective advice on the schools to name on your common application form, and the order you should consider, based on your child's test scores (if a grammar school application), your family wishes, your location and any other factors you consider should be taken into account. No one else provides a similar service for Kent or Medway parents!
I also provide advice where only non-selective schools are being considered, and can follow through with a personal consultation at your home if desired.
The service is suspended completely for February and March as I give priority to my personal clients and have no spare capacity.
It operates for Primary enquiries from Primary decision day, and for all other matters except normal round seconday appeals from May onwards.
At all times of year, except February and March, some of the main users of this service are families moving house and wishing to make preliminary enquiries about school transfer or appeals.
I am sorry if this appears quite restricting, but I am a sole professional with limited time resource and need to give priority to my personal secondary transfer clients at key times.
Many parents have taken advantage of the presentations I have given to primary and secondary schools in Kent and Medway where I have provided advice to parents based on their local situation both as a group and individually. This service provides similar opportunities in other parts of the county.
My fee is £45 for a half hour telephone consultation; £75 for an hour consultation.
If you wish to take advantage of this service, please send me an email providing as much information as possible.
For those wishing to appeal after a non-selective decision in the Kent or Medway tests, this might include:
1) Your child's individual test scores (available from the primary school);
2) Was there a Kent headteacher assessment (available from the primary school), or a Medway Review (details sent with your decision)?
3) The town or village where you live;
4) Your child's current school;
5) Schools you are considering:
6) Any other relevant factors;
7) Times when you are available in the next few days, and your contact telephone number;
8) Whether you require half an hour or an hour consultation.
I will then email back and, if I consider I can be of help, will confirm approximately when I will call. However, if I consider your issue is a straightforward one, I will respond free of charge by email, as soon as possible.
You will then need to make payment by credit card or Paypal, using the Paypal button below.
If you subsequently use my services for an appeal, I will reimburse the £45 half hour fee.
If you have any queries on this process don't hesitate to email me regarding these.
